Justin Boisvert/Jena Townend – Belleville, ON, Canada – 30’ Advantage

While Justin Boisvert is not necessarily a newcomer to poker run events in Canada and the United Sates, having being a passenger on boats at several of our run, he can now be seen running his own waves aboard his 2001 30’ Advantage powered by twin 496 MAG HO MerCruiser engines. With such impressive power, he can easily run at a steady pace and keep up with the pack. But for Boisvert, it’s not all about speed.

“I have been watching the 1000 Islands poker run for years ever since I was a kid and have a been a passenger in several events,” says Boisvert. “But safety is always my main concern. As I know I am not the fastest boat out there, I am not in a rush and just enjoy the time on the water.”

Boisvert also explains that between poker runs he regularly attends Power Boating Canada’s (a sister publication of Poker Runs America) Rendez-Vous events that take place every year in various boating regions across Ontario, Canada.

“I go to Rendezvous events as well. They have a great mix of recreational and performances boats and allow people (who can’t otherwise do the poker runs) enjoy the feel of a run. They are really fun events.”

With a few Rendezvous events under his belt so far this summer, Boisvert admits he also had a great time at our 2012 Alexandria Bay Hall of Fame Poker Run in June and the 1000 Islands Poker Run.

In fact, as Boisvert is such a fan of the event, he specifically chose June 22, 2013, for his wedding date (to finance Jena Townsend who regularly enjoys the run with him) so it wouldn’t coincide with next year’s event.
