BUCK STRACENER HITS 151.5 MPH WITH A 28 NORDIC SS!
With a roller coaster of incredible speeds in the past two years at the LOTO Shoot Out, hitting 148 mph in 2012 and 144 mph at last year’s event (both with Louie Marchese), performance enthusiast Buck Stracener is now at the top of his game after he ran 151.5 mph in his 28 Nordic SS last month.
In 1963, when budding architect Hilario Candela brought the Miami Marine Stadium to life, it was with one goal in mind – to watch speedboat racing – including World Powerboat Championships such as Unlimited Hydroplane, Stock, Inboard, Outboard and Modified classes.

With the Progressive Miami International Boat Show underway in South Beach, FL., Mercury Marine, which celebrates its 75th anniversary this year, hit the ground running announcing a new 200 Pro FourStroke, 540 Sterndrive, an enhanced M8R drive, Zero Effort Digital controls, and the Joystick Pilot system rigged to Mercury Racing’s 520 Sterndrive.
Kudos to Super Stock racer and proud new dad Ryan Beckley for making his traditional Sarasota New Year’s Day fun-run a memorable one. Beckley and company were once again successful in bringing together more than 60 boatloads of power boating friends and professional racing companions of beloved, fallen offshore champion, Joey Gratton.

attended the Poker Runs America 2013 1000 Islands Poker Run in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, meeting and greeting
with poker runners along the slips and throughout the event.
If there’s any indication that Fountain Powerboats – now under ownership of Baja Marine Inc. – is on the right path for success, it was the checkered flag victory in the Superboat Vee Class at the 23rd New York Super Boat Grand Prix by owner Mark Gibbons of Absolutely Not, a 30’ Fountain Lightning SVL.
